Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the questions we are asked most often about the allotments
Is there a waiting list for an allotment?
Yes, there normally is a waiting list.
Early April sees us sending out renewal letters, and it is at that time we will know if anyone is giving up a plot.
Please send your name/address and postcode/mobile number and email address to:
info@mickletonallotments co uk
and we will add you to the list....
Is there a tap on site?
There is no tap on site. However, plot holders manage well by collecting rainwater. We advise recycling old dustbins or IBC tanks.
We may well have IBC tanks and/or our patented (!) rain water catchers for sale, if you plot does not already have one.
What are the opening hours?
The allotments are on an open site, and can be accessed 24 hrs a day. However there is no electricity for lights and so you have to take that into consideration.
We also have neighbours adjoining the allotments so we wouldn't expect anyone to be creating any noise at night-time to inconvenience them.
How long do I keep my allotment for?
When you take on an allotment we both sign a tenancy agreement and subject to the terms in that agreement being met and the annual fee being paid tenancies usually continue year after year.We have been on this site 120+ years and in the village for over 400 years.
